OFFICIAL BLAST.tv 2025 Austin Major Community Broadcast Guidelines

Hello and thank you for your interest in covering the upcoming BLAST.tv Austin Major! At BLAST, we both welcome and encourage community coverage of our events. The guidelines below are intended only for community broadcasters and do not apply to existing commercial rights holders and/or any official language partners. If you have any questions about obtaining a commercial licence, or feel that the below guidelines do not apply to you, please reach out to streaming@blast.tv.

Please read and familiarise yourself with the Community Rules below before streaming any BLAST.tv Austin Major matches. If any of the rules are broken, BLAST reserves the right to take action against your stream.

Note: if you are an existing Official Language Partner (i.e. you have an existing contract with BLAST for streams in a specific language) the rules contained in these guidelines do not apply to you. Please reach out to your BLAST contact if you have any questions.

Rules and Regulations:

Non Commercial Streaming/Broadcasting

You fall in this category if you have a stream/broadcast that is both free to access (i.e. viewers do not have to pay to view) and is not monetised (through sponsorship or brand partnerships) - for the avoidance of doubt this does not include monetisation through Twitch / Youtube / KICK ads, subscriptions or donations. ). If this sounds like you and you’d like to get involved, the following rules apply to any BLAST.tv Austin Major content that you put out into the world: 

• All in-game capture for the BLAST.tv Austin Major must be taken from CSTV. (This means that it is forbidden to re-stream any official broadcast feed or to produce content over an official broadcast feed/stream).
• You may not monetise your stream and cannot under any circumstances charge others to view any BLAST.tv Austin Major content.
• For streaming relating to the MRQs, Stage 1, 2 & 3 and Playoffs of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, no additional delay is required, outside of the 2 minutes already applied on the Community Stream.
• All sponsorship and third-party branding is explicitly forbidden on all BLAST.tv Austin Major related streams/broadcasts.
• Community Streams are required to be broadcast in a non-commercial fashion. Community Streams are not permitted to use professional studio-level broadcasting features (i.e., replays, highlights, any customised HUDs including player photos or score bars). Additionally, community streams shall not have a physical studio and/or feature multiple analysts or casters. .
• You are prohibited from making or associating any campaigns or messaging that fall outside of esports entertainment, e.g. political, social, environmental, rights activism etc during BLAST.tv Austin Major related streams/broadcasts.
• If a chat/viewer interaction opportunity is available on your stream/broadcast, it is required that you moderate this.
• It must be made clear on your stream/broadcast, that content belongs solely to you and not to BLAST and/or Valve.
• Any players/coaches/personalities who are currently banned by Valve may not appear as part of your broadcast/stream. This applies to any sort of appearance, whether it be audio, visual, etc. The full list of currently banned individuals can be found here.
• The title of your streams/broadcasts should be in the following format: BLAST.tv 2025 Austin Major - Stage 1 - Team 1 vs Team 2, so as an example: BLAST.tv 2025 Austin Major - Playoffs - Team Liquid vs Heroic.

Commercial Streaming/Broadcasting:

You fall in this category if you have a commercial licence from BLAST, according to the terms & conditions set out in such License.

All commercial streaming/broadcasting (both linear and online) is prohibited for the BLAST.tv Austin Major without prior consent from BLAST. If you would like to apply to become an Official Language Partner (who, as noted above, are exempt from these guidelines), and obtain a commercial licence, please reach out to streaming@blast.tv.

Additionally, it should be noted that any employees and/or freelance contractors of commercial broadcast entities are prohibited from streaming. - This extends to any potential non-commercial streams/broadcasts on their private channels.

BLAST reserves the right to modify the community broadcast rules at any time.
