After being taken down by the French organisation in the BLAST.tv Austin Major grand final, The MongolZ have finally got the better of Vitality here at BLAST Bounty Season 2.
A historic win for the Mongolian team, they will now face Spirit in the grand final, after the Russian team took down MOUZ earlier in the day.
Let's recap the action.
Kicking off the day with MOUZ vs Spirit on Ancient, MOUZ got off to a flier as they began the map with a 3-0 lead thanks to this torzsi ace.
The half got more competitive from there, but more MOUZ heroics kept them in front with an 8-4 lead going into the break.
Spirit fought back in a big way in the second half, picking up an 8-4 half of their own to force OT.
donk then came alive in the second half, dealing blow after blow to MOUZ that saw him end the game with a 1.49 rating and a 16-14 win for his team.
The win pushed Spirit forward in the series, Mirage was barely a contest. It took more individual brilliance from MOUZ for them to stay in the game at 12-4 down.
But that round win would matter for little in the end, Spirit won the next round to take the map and series 13-5.
Perhaps the crown really is slipping. After falling to MOUZ at IEM Cologne, Vitality have now also lost to The MongolZ here in Malta.
They started well, picking up a 3-0 lead, but soon started to lose some poor rounds as The MongolZ forced their way back into the game.
The MongolZ' attack soon became overwhelming, and they picked up their fifth round of the game off the back of a force buy.
The second half was all The MongolZ, with 910 picking up an exceptional ace as a result of some patient play on the flank.
13-7 when it was all said and done, the AWPer was impressive, but it was Senzu who topped the scoreboard at 19-11.
910 then continued to impress in map two, he was a big reason why Vitality couldn't get a round on the board in the early stages of their T side.
18-4 when the half was over, kills did dry up for The MongolZ on the T side as it became Vitality's turn to make big plays on the B site.
But sometimes it's just not meant to be, and this unfortunate timing in the 1v1 summed up Vitality's game as they clawed it back to 11-11 just to fall 13-11.
