Confirmed team list: Top-tier teams for BLAST Open Season 2

BLAST Open Season 2 is almost here and the invites for the tournament have now been sent.

Won by Vitality in Season 1 as they continued their dominance over the CS world, the grand final between Vitality and MOUZ was a banger, one of the best in CS2 thus far.

Now, in Season 2, every team in attendance will be looking to steal the crown from Vitality and secure themselves the lion's share of the $330,000 prizepool when the action begins at the end of August.

Set to kick off on August 27th, BLAST Open Season 2 will feature 16 teams, who will be whittled down to six as they battle it out for spots in the playoffs at London's Wembley Arena.

Invites were sent out using the official VRS rankings for July 4th: The following teams have accepted the invite:

BLAST Open Season 2 Closed qualifiers invited teams

The other 4 slots at the Open will come from the winners of the four regional qualifiers, giving underdog teams the chance to join the event and shake things up.

As with the direct invites, the invites were sent out using the official VRS rankings for July 4th.

The following teams have accepted the invite and will be joined in the Closed qualifiers in each region by 4 teams from Open Qualifiers (find qualifier links here).

When the action kicks off on August 27th, the best place to catch every game will be right here on BLAST.tv. The group stage will take place online from August 27th to September 1st, and the playoffs in London will then commence on September 5th and run until September 7th.
