It's been a phenomenal year for Chinese Counter-Strike.
After impressive performances in the BLAST.tv Austin Major and EmiliaQAQ and Jee capturing the hearts of the Counter-Strike world, TYLOO have gone and put the cherry on top by winning FISSURE Playground 1.
A tournament with a $1,000,000 prize pool and featuring a top ten team in FURIA, it's a landmark moment for Chinese CS as it's the first time a Chinese team has won an international LAN event since a very different TYLOO team won StarLadder & ImbaTV Invitational Chongqing back in 2018.
TYLOO were impressive throughout the whole event, going undefeated in the group stage as they beat Virtus.pro 2-0 and Astralis 2-1.
Heading into the playoffs they then took down 3DMAX 2-0 and SAW 2-0, setting themselves up with a BO5 grand final against Astralis.
Astralis win the first map of the final, Inferno, with a 13-10 scoreline. However, TYLOO soon turned the tie on its head as they blitzed Nuke to win 13-4.
They then converted the final on the following two maps, wrapping up the series 3-1 with JamYoung topping the scoreboard with a monstrous 90-56 statline. For context, the next highest kills in the server was HooXi, on 67.
Thanks to their win, TYLOO will take home $150,000 as well as $140,000 club share. They will also see a sharp rise up the VRS rankings, which should also see them get an invite to their home event at IEM Chengdu.
