BLAST.tv Official Community Coverage Guidelines FAQ

Greetings! Thank you for your interest in covering the upcoming 2025 BLAST.tv Austin Major. At BLAST, we both welcome and encourage community coverage of our events. With the Major Finals on the horizon, please see our Official Community Coverage Guidelines below.

Please note, these guidelines are intended for community streamers only, and do not apply to existing commercial rights holders and/or Official Language Partners. Should you wish to inquire into obtaining a commercial licence, or feel that the guidelines set out below do not apply to you, please reach out to streaming@blast.tv, where we aim to respond to you as soon as possible.

Please read and familiarise yourself with the Official Community Coverage Guidelines below before streaming any BLAST.tv Austin Major fixtures and/or related content. If any of the following guidelines are violated, BLAST reserves the right to take reasonable action against your coverage and associated online profile.

Official Community Coverage Guidelines

Category 1: Non Commercial Streaming/Broadcasting

Category Criteria: You fall within this category if you have a stream/broadcast that is both free to access (i.e. viewers do not have to pay to view) and is not monetised (i.e. through sponsorship or brand partnerships). For the avoidance of doubt, this does not include monetisation through platform ads, subscriptions or donations throughout the term of the Major Finals (June 03-22).

Before putting your Major content out into the world, be sure to keep the following in mind:

1. All ‘in-game capture’ of the BLAST.tv Austin Major must be taken from the free-to-access CSTV. This means re-streaming of any official broadcast feed or producing content over an official broadcast feed is strictly prohibited.
2. You may not monetise your coverage, or under any circumstances charge others to view any/all BLAST.tv Austin Major content.
3. Any inclusion, embedding, contracting of sponsorship and third-party branding on your coverage of the BLAST.tv Austin Major is explicitly forbidden.
4. You do not have to self-implement additional delays. A delay of 2 minutes is readily applied to the free-to-access CSTV feed.
5. You are not permitted to use professional studio-level broadcasting features in your coverage (i.e. replays, highlights, customised HUDs, including player photos or score bars). Additionally, community coverage may not feature a physical, customised studio space and/or feature multiple analysts and casters.
6. It is strictly prohibited to declare, associate with or issue outward messaging falling outside of eSports entertainment (i.e. political, social, economic, environmental, rights activism) during and throughout your BLAST.tv Austin Major coverage.
7. If chat/viewer interaction is open and/or enabled, it is required that you moderate this.
8. It must be made explicitly clear that your Community Coverage of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, along with any content created by you belongs solely to you, and does not originate from BLAST, Valve and other associated entities outside of yourself.
9. Any players/coaches/personalities currently banned by Valve may not appear within your coverage or content (i.e. guest appearances, whether via audio, visual etc.). Please see the Valve Ban List here.
10. Titles of any coverage must use and comply with the following naming convention: BLAST.tv 2025 Austin Major - Stage of Competition - Team 1 vs Team 2. (As an example, your coverage of the first fixture should be titled: BLAST.tv 2025 Austin Major - Stage 1 - Complexity vs OG.)

Category 2: Commercial Streaming/Broadcasting

Category Criteria: You fall within this category if you have obtained a Commercial License from BLAST for the BLAST.tv Austin Major. The terms and conditions set out within your agreement with us apply.

If you do not fall within this category, all commercial streaming and broadcasting, whether linear or online, is prohibited without prior consent issued by BLAST. If you would like to apply to become an Official Language Partner and obtain a Commercial License (who, as noted above, are exempt from Category 1 Guidelines), please reach out to streaming@blast.tv with your profile details in the following format.

Please note, any employees and/or freelance contractors of associated commercial broadcast entities are prohibited from streaming/broadcasting and participating on a Community Coverage basis, whether through private or public personality channel means.

BLAST reserves the right to modify the set of Official Community Coverage Guidelines at any time.
