The MongolZ may have had some tough times on the biggest stages this year, but those troubles weren't present at all as they stepped out onto the Moody Center stage in Austin.
A 2-0 victory over the crowd favourites FaZe, the roaring Texas crowd didn't even slightly faze (pardon the pun) The MongolZ as they managed to shut down s1mple and the rest of the FaZe stars.
Let's take a look at the action.
FaZe looked by far the stronger team at the start of Mirage, they soon found themselves with a 4-1 lead.
However, The MongolZ fought back, and it wasn't long before they took the lead at 5-4.
karrigan wasn't going to let the game slip away from his team, though, he continued a strong half to level the score back up at 5-5.
6-6 at the half, s1mple and the rest of FaZe's heavy hitters may have been struggling as they had eight kills or less, but their captain karrigan was carrying them through the round wins, ending the half at 14-5.
Heading into the second half, The MongolZ took control in a big way. The Mongolian team won six CT rounds in a row, only allowing FaZe to get the bomb down on two occasions. A dominant showing, 910's AWP was constantly finding its mark as FaZe looked lost in each attack.
FaZe did manage to claw back a few rounds before the map reached its climax, but it was never easy for them to do so, s1mple got very unlucky as he tried to hit a tight shot onto 910 in Connector.
It eventually became clear that the deficit was just too big for FaZe to close, 13-9 when it was all said and done, it was 910 who found himself sitting at the top of the scoreboard with 21 kills.
Much like Mirage, Anubis began with a close half. FaZe were ahead in the opening exchanges once more, but a five round winning streak from The MongolZ soon saw them take a 5-3 lead.
FaZe weren't out of it yet, though, they answered back with four more rounds, securing a 7-5 lead at the break after some insane shooting from EliGE in the clutch.
The MongolZ did win the first two rounds of the second half, but that wasn't without FaZe's Deagles making them sweat.
With both teams pushing hard, we soon found ourselves tied up at 11-11. Once again the hero for FaZe, his quick thinking helped them secure their 11th after he almost got caught with his back turned to Connector.
The MongolZ managed to retake the lead in the next round, and in true karrigan fashion, FaZe looked to rush into the B bombsite to take the game to OT.
Sadly for FaZe, that rush was promptly stopped in its tracks, and as FaZe looked to pivot into the A site, it was 910 who rounded out his solid quarter-final with another multi-kill to send FaZe home.
