The popular tournament will take place in the Boulevard Riyadh City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will host 16 Dota 2 teams in a LAN setting. Let’s find out more about the tournament in detail below:

The above teams from around the world will compete for a lion’s share of the massive $3,000,000 prize pool and 3550 Club Points.

Format

The Esports World Cup 2025 is divided into three phases. The format can be found below:

• Phase 1 - Group Stage (July 8 - July 11, 2025)
  • Four groups of four teams in a round-robin
  • All series consist of two games
  • The top team from each group advances to Phase 3
  • The 2nd-place team from each group advances to the second round of Phase 2
  • Remaining teams from each group advance to the first round of Phase 2
• Phase 2 - Elimination Phase (July 12 - July 13, 2025)
  • Gauntlet bracket
  • 4th vs 3rd from groups, winner vs 2nd
  • Four teams advance to Phase 3
  • All matches are Bo3
• Phase 3 - Playoffs (July 16 - July 19, 2025)
  • Single-elimination bracket with third-placed match
  • The Grand Final is Bo5, all other matches are Bo3

The teams have been divided into four groups and will compete in a Bo2 round-robin format. The games will be streamed simultaneously on both Twitch and YouTube.
