The action at BLAST Slam III is heating up, as only four teams remain in the tournament after Day 4 of the playoffs concluded. The day kicked off with a series between Xtreme Gaming and Aurora Gaming. Aurora took the first game, but Xtreme hit back hard in the second, forcing a decisive third match. After an hour of methodical brilliance, Aurora Gaming emerged triumphant and advanced to face the Gamin Gladiators.
The second series of the day, between Team Tidebound and Team Spirit, was nothing short of thrilling. Despite Team Spirit securing a clean sweep against Tidebound, the series felt it genuinely could go either way.
In the first match, Team Spirit showed off some spectacular plays, especially that unexpected first blood at midlane, which caught the Huskar off guard. Tidebound had a safelane Underlord, but their midlane Huskar made several crucial Armlet mistakes that ultimately allowed the game to slip out of their grasp.
In the second game of the series, Team Spirit had Nature's Prophet, which Tidebound did not properly address. As a result, this hero came back to haunt them with ratting and split pushes, which eventually eliminated Team Tidebound from the tournament.
The final series of the day was between Aurora Gaiming and Gaimin Gladiators. The first game of the series was an absolute disaster for Aurora Gaiming despite Gaimin having an unorthodox support duo. Nevertheless, the unusual pairing proved highly effective, especially for Quinn. With his signature Monkey King, he was everywhere on the map, giving his opponents a brutal beatdown. After 33 minutes of Gaben-level shellacking, Aurora tapped out.
In the second game, Aurora gave Gaimin Gladiators the Monkey King once again. However, this time, they put up a much stronger fight. The match lasted over an hour and swung back and forth with both teams committing several buybacks. Gaimin lost two sets of barracks, but they held firm — patiently poking at Aurora, slowly chipping away at their buildings, and waiting for the perfect moment to land the knockout blow.
The patience paid off when Aurora’s midlane Windranger was caught out of position multiple times. This opened the door for the Gladiators to strike with precision and they eliminated Aurora Gaming from the tournament.
The fifth day of BLAST Slam III will feature two exciting series: Team Falcons vs. Team Spirit and Tundra Esports vs. Gaimin Gladiators. By the end of Day 5, we’ll know the name of the teams which will advance to the grand finals. Stay tuned to BLAST for the latest tournament coverage and results.
