BLAST Slam III: Parivision and Xtreme Gaming bite the dust

Round two of the BLAST Slam III playoffs has concluded. Two more teams bid adieu to their dreams of lifting the coveted trophy, while the other two advance to the quarter-finals of the third edition of Slam.

Parivision and Xtreme Gaming eliminated

Both series went to the wire as Parivision, Team Spirit, Aurora Gaming and Xtreme Gaming battled to secure their berth in the quarter-finals.

The first game between Parivision and Team Spirit was the day's highlight, as it lasted beyond the 77-minute mark. Parivision held on as long as they could, despite Team Spirit gaining a significant advantage in the game. However, the Yatoro show on Clinkz ruffled Parivision’s feathers and led Team Spirit to victory.

Parivision bounced back with an equaliser in the next game and levelled the series with an aggressive draft. The game was over for Team Spirit in 33 minutes, with Satanic and Noone taking Parivision to the finish line.

However, the third game was more closely contested than the previous two. It was the battle between the two cores – Yatoro and Satanic. Both players displayed impeccable grit and tried hard to carry their respective teams to victory.

But a clutch error from Parivision landed them in the hornet’s nest, and Team Spirit was more than happy to capitalise on that chance. They got their revenge against Parivision for the ESL One Raleigh defeat and continue their lower bracket run.

The second series between Aurora Gaming and Xtreme Gaming became a one-sided affair in the first two games. Both games were a stomp, with Aurora and Xtreme picking up a win each.

The third game, despite going beyond the 60-minute mark, saw both teams take a cautious approach. With less action until the mid-game, both teams wanted to play it safe. However, Aurora was waiting to hit their timings.

Once Aurora was set, they hit Xtreme Gaming hard and fast, blindsiding the Chinese team by turning the tables against them. Aurora won the series and advanced to the next round, keeping their dark-horse tag alive.
