Alongside building Ornithopters, a fancy base, and grinding for the strongest minerals in the game, you also need to make your character stronger, hence the RPG nomenclature.
To learn the most powerful skills and to maximize your personal strength, you need find people who can teach you their ways, unlocking basic, advanced, and capstone skill in the process. With all trainer locations listed below, you'll have a much easier time in Dune: Awakening.
In a game filled with NPCs, it would've likely been annoying to find which ones were the trainers, especially in the social hubs. Luckily, Funcom identified all trainers in a very simple way.
As shown in the image, all trainers in Dune: Awakening have a floating blue light hovering above them. So if you're having trouble finding which NPC we mean through the map screenshots, just look for the one with a blue light.
Remember that if you started with a class, you automatically skip to the Advanced trainers. All the Basic trainers do is unlock the skill tree.
You'll find the Basic Bene Gesserit quite far from the initial area of the game. Luckily, despite being located in the Eastern Shield Wall, Sister Mesa is inside the Helius Gate, a safe zone, so you don't have to worry about enemies.
If you want to get here early, we recommend reaching the Shield Wall from Jabal Eifrit Al-gharb and then climbing it. The Helius Gate is right on top of the wall, so you will not run into any enemies here.
The Advanced Bene Gesserit Trainer is much easier to find, so all of you who started as a voice practitioner from the start can rejoice. You'll find the trainer is a shady corridor inside Harko Village, in the bottom floor, as highlighted above.
Much like Sister Mesa, the basic Mentat trainer will require you to make quite a trek in order to reach him. Samin Moro is at the South-most area of the Hagga Rift's surface, close to the Eastern Vermillius Gap border.
Don't worry though, Samin is also located in a safe area, inside the Riftwatch. As long as you have a Sandbike, you should have no trouble reaching him, just make sure you don't get eaten on your way there.
From the Harkonnen-controlled Riftwatch, we now head to the home of the Atreides, Arrakeen. To find the Advanced Mentat trainer you must fly to the social hub (using your Thopter or the taxi service) and enter into the Salusan Bull bar. You'll find the trainer at the back, as highlighted above.
Planetologist is the only class that you cannot start as, so everyone needs to start off at the Basic Trainer. You'll find Derek Chinara above Testing Station No. 2 in Hagga Basin South.
Just climb the rocks above the station until you find a big tent with plants. You'll find the basic Planetologist trainer inside.
Unlike all other classes, Derek will also be your advanced trainer, but you will not find in the same location. Instead, you'll find him inside Testing Station No. 197, right outside the entrance.
There will be enemies in this area, so be careful. Make sure you clear everyone before beginning the dialogue, as you won't be invincible during it.
Unfortunately for all you melee-focused players who didn't start as Swordmaster, this is the most annoying basic trainer to reach. Arno is inside the Pinnacle Station Tradepost, the Northern-most tradepost in the entire game. You'll have to cross half the map to find him, even if you have your base in the middle of the Vermillius Gap.
One relatively safe way to reach him is to climb the Shield Wall where you find the basic Bene Gesserit trainer, make your way through the edge of the wall and then jump down into the tradepost.
Thankfully, the advanced Swordmaster trainer is located in Harko Village, so he is much easier to find. Seron Varlin, the blindfolded baddass, is located at the North of the Village, in the bottom floor.
Trooper has the easiest basic trainer location in Dune: Awakening, which is great, because it also has one of the best early game skills in the entire game, the Shigawire Claw.
You'll find Ghavouri inside the Griffin's Reach Tradepost, around the middle of South Haggan Basin. Complete his contract and enjoy the vertical freedom that the Claw brings.
The advanced Trooper trainer will bring us back to Arrakeen, but this time we'll have to climb the stairs to the second floor. You'll find the advanced trainer in the area highlighted above.
