EliGE: "When we're playing like this we can beat anyone"
FaZe came into Stage 2 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major as one of the favourites to go 3-0, and they've now put themselves within one game of doing that with a 13-5 win over TYLOO.
They also beat HEROIC 13-3 in their opening game, a welcome result given the back and forth that's been going on between s1mple and yxngstxr on Twitter.
After the game against TYLOO, we spoke to EliGE to get his thoughts on the form FaZe are displaying thus far in Austin.
"I think we played really well today"
You've just gone 2-0, how are you feeling after getting through the BO1s?
Super happy, I think we played really well today, when we're playing like this we can beat anyone and it's nice to be through the BO1s in one day.
The vibes seem really high in the team, what's the energy like in the server?
I think we're just playing really well off each other, karrigan is calling great, our midrounds are solid, we're all just bouncing ideas off each other. Everything is looking and meshing well.
Everyone will be focused on s1mple but it feels like the team as a whole is just clicking right now, can you just lock it down tomorrow and advance in the BO3 at the first time of asking?
That's the plan, for sure. Like I said, when we're playing like this, we can beat anyone. I'm still not sure who we're going to play, it depends on who beats who, but it doesn't matter, we've already shown what we're capable of and now the whole team is feeling that.
We know that we have this high level that we can bring to any game, even if it gets tough we still have that to fall back on and that's what is going to make us scary.
Given that you don't know yet who you'll play, what's the important thing to do heading into tomorrow?
There's not really any point of thinking about what ifs, it doesn't really matter, at the end of the day we'll get dealt whoever it is and we just have to prepare and show up tomorrow as we did today.
