Saving your progress in PEAK isn’t as simple as pressing a button or walking up to a campfire. If you’ve played for a while, you’ve probably noticed that once you leave the game or close it, you’re back at the start near the crashed plane.
That’s because PEAK doesn’t have a built-in save system right now. It’s a tough climb, and the game expects you to finish a run in one go. But if you're not into spending an hour or more in one session, there are a couple of mod options that can help.
Right now, no. PEAK doesn’t support saving your game officially. Whether you’ve made it halfway up a mountain or just reached a campfire, quitting the game means you’ll have to start from scratch next time. The campfires don’t act as checkpoints.
The game is designed around daily-changing island layouts, so saving would break that system. Each day, the island shifts, and routes you used yesterday might not exist tomorrow. That’s probably why there’s no save feature built in yet.

Until the developers add an official save feature, you can use mods to get around this. The easiest way to do that is through Thunderstore Mod Manager. You’ll also need the BepInExPack PEAK mod, which usually installs automatically when you download your first mod. Just make sure to launch the game through the mod manager.
There are two popular mods right now that let you save your progress in PEAK. Here’s what they do and how they’re different.

This one’s simple. After you land on the island, press F5 to set a checkpoint. Later, if you want to return to that spot, press F6 to teleport back to it. Pressing F7 will take you back to where you were before teleporting.
It shows yellow dust and makes a sound, so you’ll know it worked. It’s good if you need a short break and want to come back later in the same session.
But there are a few things to keep in mind. It doesn’t save your items or status. You also can’t quit the game completely and load back into that spot.
It only works as long as you’re still in the session or if you go back to the main menu and start a new run. Also, it won’t work if you’re in the airport or if you're trying to use it with friends. It’s more for quick, solo play.

This one’s more advanced. Press F10 on the island to open the Save Manager. You can make a quick save or name your saves. It keeps track of your gear, your health, and where you are. You can even make multiple save files. This one also supports multiplayer, but only if you’re the host.
It’s not perfect, though. Sometimes you’ll reload and fall from a height. Sometimes it takes a few reloads before you’re back to the right spot. The UI isn’t very polished, and it doesn’t pause the game, even in solo.
Also, if you’re using it with the island's daily random changes, things can break. To avoid that, use the MorePeak mod to turn off the daily map system and play on the same seed every time.
Also, be careful where you save. Don’t do it at the airport, and be ready for a few bugs like duplicated items at the crash site.
If you want something quick and easy, just for pausing and resuming your solo run, go with SavePoint. If you want more features, like full inventory saving and multiplayer support, and don’t mind a few bugs, then PEAK Save Manager is better. Just don’t install both at the same time, or they’ll conflict.
