No one expected Falcons to be in the 0-2 bracket heading into Stage 2 of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, and they faced a tough game against OG to get out of it.
A series in which they even went a map down after an OG fight back on Dust2, they eventually managed to survive the scare following wins on Nuke and Mirage.
Let's take a look at the action.
Falcons got off to a flying start on Nuke, they opened up the map with a 9-3 T side to put themselves firmly in the driver's seat. A half in which their most experienced players shined the brightest, Magisk and NiKo ended the half with 12 kills each.
However, OG came back hard in the second half, they won six rounds in a row to level the tie at 9-9.
Then finding themselves with a 12-11 lead, who better than nicoodoz to be put into the 1v3 clutch to steal the map from out of Falcons' grasp?
The Dane was the star for OG on Dust2, he may not have had the 22 kills than both NiKo and Magisk had, but his 21 kills pushed OG to a 1-0 lead.
OG carried their momentum into Nuke, a T side pistol win saw them take a 3-0 lead in the early stages.
Falcons soon found their way back into it, though, they won eight in a row to go into their T side with an 8-4 lead.
OG started the second half with some more consecutive round wins, tying the game up at 8-8, and although they would keep on pushing through plays like this from Chr1zN, they would eventually concede the map 13-10.
m0NESY fried on the map, he went 21-10 to carry his team back into the series and send them to a third map.
Magisk may have faced plenty of criticism for his performances in 2025, but he won't care as he came alive with a 1.93 rated performance on Mirage to keep his team in the Major.
Despite the 13-6 scoreline, it wasn't all easy for Falcons, Buzz and F1KU made them look silly in the opening exchanges as they pulled off a 2v4 with just an AWP and a Deagle.
nicoodoz also threatened to spark another OG comeback, he secured OG's sixth and final round with two quick kills in the post-plant.
However, the experience of Falcons eventually prevailed, they won the game just two rounds later with Magisk topping the scoreboard on 20 kills and everyone else on the team also having a positive K/D.
