The Esports World Cup 2025 concluded with Team Spirit emerging as the undisputed champions of Dota 2. The Eastern European powerhouse delivered a clinical performance to secure the championship, being dominant throughout the tournament.
Team Spirit entered the playoffs with strong momentum, having topped their group with an impressive 5-1 record. They secured a spot in the playoffs due to their strong performance, thereby skipping the elimination phase.
In the playoffs, they took down Gaimin Gladiators and PARIVISION, showcasing superior drafting, map control, and dominant plays in key moments. They faced the resurgent Team Falcons in the grand final, and with both teams looking to take a slice out of the multi-million dollar prize pool, the stage was set for a showdown.
The best-of-five final series was anticipated to be a full-blown affair, but Team Spirit had other plans in mind and made sure to end it quickly. With back-to-back wins in the opening two games, Spirit set the tone early. Team Falcons tried its best but couldn’t manage to mount a comeback and ended up losing game three as well.
As a result, Team Spirit whitewashed the mighty Falcons with a 3-0 score and got crowned as the Esports World Cup 2025 Dota 2 champions.
Fresh off their Esports World Cup 2025 victory, Team Spirit now look ahead to The International 2025 (TI14). With two championships under their belts, DreamLeague Season 25 and EWC 2025, they are peaking at the right time and will be a force to be reckoned with at TI14.
This resurgence sparks nostalgia for every Team Spirit fan, reviving the classic Spirit vibe the community knows so well. They’ve done it before, twice. But can Team Spirit do it again and claim their third TI championship later this year?
