The 2025 RLCS Raleigh Major is here, with 16 teams aiming for the crown of Major champions on the final stop before the World Championship.
Who stands the best chance of coming out on top?
Who will be riding high on momentum when we head to Lyon-Decines in September?
KC are undoubtedly the top team heading into the Raleigh Major. Vatira, Atow and Dralii have dominated the online season in EU, winning 4/6 events.
They also made the Birmingham Major look like easy work, finishing off The Ultimates in a clean sweep in the Grand Final.
Whilst NRG didn’t finish as highly as they will have wanted in Birmingham, the team of Atomic, Beastmode and Daniel have been a constant force for two seasons in RLCS. Ex-G2, now NRG, the trio have had similar online domination to KC but in North America.
They want to get straight back to a LAN finals after missing their first one in two years in Birmingham.
It’s always hard to place Team Falcons as Rw9, Kiilleerrz and Trk511 have yet to bring home a Major win to the MENA region. They are a huge threat though and are in great standing to make a solid run in Raleigh. Falcons fell to NRG in Birmingham and will be looking for revenge on American soil as they make another attempt at that elusive LAN chip.
Definitely a “best of the rest” vibe surrounding Dignitas heading into Raleigh. AppJack, Stizzy and Joreuz have come the closest to consistently besting KC in EU and that’s saying a lot in itself. They didn’t make it out of Swiss Stage in Birmingham but since then they have looked like a completely different team, justifying their spot here.
Perhaps a rogue pick putting FURIA at 5th but SAM’s best are consistent overperformers at LAN. They always enter events with doubts about them and always usurp them. Drufinho, Lostt and yANZNX had their best ever Major in Birmingham and will look to stay consistent on the road to Worlds.
Generally, it’s been a pretty disappointing season for Team Vitality. No regional wins for the trio of M0nkeyM00n, Zen and ExoTiiK, and a lacklustre performance in Birmingham. That being said, the name power alone of these three players means that if they can put it together for just two days then they will be right in the mix at the top of the Raleigh Major.
Firstkiller, Chronic and Lj finished Birmingham as the runners up but haven’t quite kept that momentum since. They fell off slightly in the second online split in NA and will be looking to get back to form on LAN. Lj still hasn’t won an RLCS event of any kind, and it’s almost feeling like he’s due. So don’t count TU out.
The community darling of the second online split in NA, SSG are entering their first ever LAN as players. Kofyr, Reveal and Scrzbbles will all be at their first Major event and that pressure will be really heavy. There is a lot of expectation on these youngsters to deliver but with it being their first, don’t be surprised if they need time to adjust.
Twisted Minds are an enigma. With Rise, Nwpo and Atomik, they feel like they should be much better than they have been this year.
But it has consistently been the sum of their parts letting them down in regionals and in Birmingham. Rumours circled of a roster change between splits but they chose to stick it out, let’s see if it pays off in Raleigh.
Welcome back king Justin. Returning to LAN for the first time in multiple years, one of the biggest and best players in Rocket League history is finally back at a Major event. GenG have looked far better online since picking up Justin, with Cheese and MajicBear seemingly activated in a different way since the roster chance.
Will it be enough?
M8 need a miracle in Raleigh. They are the only team at the event with their Worlds qualification in their hands. They need to get all the way to the Grand Final to do so. Seikoo has done it before.
He’s had miracles in the past, and joined by newcomer Yujin and old friend Juicy, who’s to say no?
SAM #2 Team Secret are a bit of mixed bag in terms of what to expect from them. They have the talent and ability to take down the best teams at the Major but always struggle to do it consistently.
OCE was put to the sword by VP in Birmingham. APAC’s best ever finish came from Sosa, Sphinx and Catalysm in Birmingham and that’s what puts them above the two OCE teams here in Raleigh.
Torsos, Bananahead and Fever need to put Birmingham out of their minds as they look to avoid a repeat of what happened to them there. Wildcard have been by FAR the best team online in OCE this year but they need to back it up on LAN.
TSM will be thinking: “How did we get here?” after needing an insane run through the last online regional of the OCE season to qualify for Raleigh, and in turn, Worlds.
Superlachie, Kaka and Amphis are here and any win that they get should be counted as a raging success.
Should go 0-3 in Swiss. Would be a shock to se any other result for Leoro, VKSailen and Torress.
The RLCS Raleigh Major kicks off at 10am ET every day from June 26-29. $351,000 is up for grabs. Catch all the action at twitch.tv/rocketleague.
